Silverstream Retreat

Thirty minutes from Wellington city you will find Silverstream Retreat, our abode for Craft Camp.

Silverstream Retreat is a wonderful place, a former army barracks and hospital, based in the hills of Silverstream. You can see the Te Awakairangi / the Hutt River, enjoy walking tracks and it is close to Te Awakairangi ki Uta / Upper Hutt city.  

Standard accomodation is in bunk rooms, but don’t worry - we’re booked so you all get a bottom bunk! You will be sharing with at least one other attendee, however, we will put you in with friends if you’re coming as a group. All bedding and towels are provided.

Should you have personal reasons for needing private sleeping arrangements, book as usual and let us know. We’ll make sure you are catered for in a way that ensures you are able to relax.

If you want something a bit nicer, you can select a non-resident ticket and book your own accomodation onsite or offsite. Or, stay at home if you’re nearby.

How to get there:

By train: Catch the train to Silverstream from Wellington. If you are using this option let us know and we will collect you from the train.

By car:  Drive from Wellington city is 32 km via State Highway 2. We encourage  you to ride share!

By plane: if you’re arriving into Wellington airport on Friday morning, let us know and we will help find you transport to the venue with your fellow crafters.
